Good Value and Service

Fantastic Cypriot restaurant in North London with a meze which outshines most to be found in the capitol. Refurbished and refreshed last year it is a smart place for all occasions. The food is fresh and well cooked and good value for money. Service is friendly and helpful.

This is the second time I have visited. Friendly Service and a succulent Lamb Shish. I will be back.

This is hard to beat!!!

It was going downhill before the refurbishment. But since it re-opened last summer, you will be pleasantly surprised. There were 6 of us, food was exceptional and service was good. Very happy. Always go for the Meze, be it meat or fish or even mixed.

Really happy. Great meze.

I have been to Vrisaki many times over the years . We have always found the standard of food to be excellent . Lovely atmosphere and very popular amongst local Greeks who go to eat. If you do go please be prepared to eat as they give great portions. Also try and go early and in the weekday evenings as it isn’t so packed. Love going there.

Best Greek Cypriot restaurant in London

I have been coming to this fabulous Greek Cypriot restaurant for more than 30 years. Tucked away in a small parade in a residential area between Wood Green and Bounds Green, it’s longevity is a testament to the quality of food and service found here. At weekends it is always rammed full, so pre-booking is essential. The restaurant is laid out so as to be able to cater for both large and small groups. The atmosphere is always great, as is the service, which is very attentive without being intrusive. There is a comprehensive a-la-carte menu of authentic and traditional dishes, but many people go for the amazing meze which at £22, (minimum two people), is probably the best value in London, if not in the whole of the UK. The table is covered initially by about fifteen different small dishes and as they are finished the table is replenished with a seemingly endless variety of delicacies including beautifully dressed salads, fish, shellfish, cheese, pork loin and ending with a variety of kebabs – lamb, pork, chicken shish, spatchcock quail and Greek sausages. All the ingredients are the freshest imaginable and all the grilled items are infused with the unique seasonings from an aged charcoal grill. The food can be complemented by drinks from the fully licensed bar and an imaginative wine list. If you are in North London and like this type of food, it is well worth going out of your way to eat here. You will not be disappointed. The restaurant is patronised by a very strong local clientele as well as some who have travelled hundreds of miles to eat here. ( I used to live in the road opposite, but now live in Devon, always making a point of eating here whenever I travel to be with friends and family in London).

Didn’t disappoint

I went to Vrisaki probably 10 years ago now when you had to get to the restaurant by going through the kebab shop. The restaurant is now more modern and you get into it through a separate entrance! However the food hasn’t changed. My family are all big eaters and we were celebrating my brother’s birthday but the meze for 4 people defeated us. At £22pp this is probably the best value for money I have had in a long time – the courses just kept coming! There was no room for dessert so I can’t comment on those but the food was all delicious and would definitely recommend, and hope to be back soon!

Night out for two

An amazing night out and great value meal. We had the £22 meat meze which kept coming. I don’t understand the poor reviews and can’t wait to go back with friends. The only thing I think they are missing is something sweet with our coffee, Turkish delight would be perfect.

Excellent Sunday lunch

Five of us, 4 adults and our 6 year old grandchild went to Vrisaki for Sunday lunch, the restaurant was not busy when we arrived, but filled up about an hour later. We ordered a couple of starters to share, and these were supplemented with small portions of olives, lentils, beetroot, radishes and flatbread. We had ordered a selection of kebabs, and I had the kleftiko for main courses. The kebabs come with rice and a small salad, the kleftiko with rice and roast potatoes and a small salad. Everyone seemed to have large portions, my kleftiko was huge, I would have estimated at least 1 pound of meat. Every meal was nicely cooked, the kleftico fell off the bone, and tasted wonderful. Because of the extra dishes I was overwhelmed by tender juicy lamb, and had to persuade my widfe and son in law to help me out. This is definitely a restaurant I would like to visit again, and will recommend it to anyone with large appetite. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The cost represented very good value for money.
